The Foundation has opened a call inviting both French and international applicants for the following positions to promote basic and clinical research programmes preferably in the following areas:
- Tumour escape of cell senescence and apoptosis pathways
- Molecular mechanisms of tumour escape from immune surveillance
- Therapeutic strategies targeting apoptosis and immune stimulation including fundamental and applied pharmacology
Foundation Synergie Lyon Cancer Endowed Chair
This call is for a senior researcher or full professor
with a distinguished scientific track record. The initial contract is for a full-time position for up to four years. It may be pursued into a tenured research or faculty post by applying for a permanent position within academic research institutions.
This endowed chair covers an excellent salary, full social benefits and removal expenses, as well as funding for PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and/or development engineers, together with support for infrastructure, research equipment, and general expenses. The call is open without limitation with respect to the current professional situation of the candidate and sabbatical arrangements could be considered.
Foundation Synergie Lyon Cancer Team Leader Programme
Two positions are open in the Foundation’s Team Leader Programme. This programme has a vocation to attract young researchers with a strong publication record to join a multidisciplinary network dedicated to the Foundation’s scientific projects.
The initial contract will be for up to four years with the subsequent possibility of applying for a tenured position. The position offers a competitive salary, full social benefits and removal expenses as well as a start-up package for team members and infrastructure.

Applicants are invited to submit an outline research project (up to 5 pages in English) and their detailed CV by June 15, 2008. A recruiting committee comprising senior researchers in the field will reach a decision by July 2008. The position starting date is projected to be October 2008.
